See the difference at icon size
Background, padding, and edge safety can make a simple mark easier to recognize on different screens.
How to make an app icon
Create a reusable master icon and common platform sizes without uploading the source.
- 01
Upload one image
Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP. Non-square artwork starts in Fit mode to avoid hidden cropping.
- 02
Adjust the presentation
Set scale, padding, position, background, and a preview shape that exposes edge risks.
- 03
Review and export
Check the file list, then download a 1024 PNG or generate a multi-size ZIP locally.
Export common iOS and Android icon sizes
The app icon maker creates a versioned set of common PNG dimensions. Preview masks help you protect important artwork near the edges, but they do not claim to reproduce every operating system mask.
- iOS common point scales and 1024 px artwork
- Android launcher densities and 512 px store artwork
- Square PNG output by default
- Readable file paths and a generated README
App icon maker FAQ
Source quality, masks, transparency, file sizes, and platform limits.
What image size should I start with?
A square image at 1024 × 1024 pixels or larger gives you the most flexibility. Images below 512 × 512 pixels can still be used, but may look soft at larger export sizes.
Does the app icon maker add rounded corners?
Not by default. Preview shapes help you check common masks, while standard exported PNG files keep a full square canvas. You can explicitly choose to bake the selected preview mask into the PNG.
Which icon sizes are included?
The preset includes common iOS 20, 29, 40, and 60 point scales plus 1024-pixel artwork, and Android launcher densities from 48 to 192 pixels plus a 512-pixel store image.
Can I export icons with a transparent background?
Yes. Choose Transparent under Background. Some platform uses may expect an opaque background, so check the current requirements for your framework and target store.
Does MotoThemes upload my icon?
No. The image is decoded, adjusted, rendered into PNG files, and zipped in your browser. MotoThemes does not upload your artwork or project settings.
Will this icon pack pass app store review?
MotoThemes provides a practical set of common sizes, not a submission guarantee. Platform rules can change, so confirm the current official requirements before publishing.
